Google Photos is cooking up a more social way to react to shared pictures (APK teardown)

What’s new: Google Photos is testing a new emoji reaction bar for shared albums, allowing users to respond with five different emojis instead of just a heart. These reactions will appear as comments alongside the user’s profile picture, enhancing the social interaction aspect of shared photos. Additionally, the app may open to the “Create” tab by default in future updates.

Who’s affected

Users of Google Photos who utilize shared albums may experience these new features once they are rolled out in future app updates.

What to do

  • Stay updated on Google Photos app updates to access new features as they become available.
  • Monitor user feedback and documentation for any changes in functionality related to shared albums.
