Google Contacts is getting iPhone-style Contact Poster, but with a twist

What’s new: Google Contacts is rolling out a new feature called Calling Cards, inspired by Apple’s Contact Poster. This feature allows users to customize the incoming call picture for contacts, displaying a full-screen image during calls. Users can select images from their Gallery, Google Photos, or take new pictures. Additionally, the font and color of the caller’s name can be customized. However, users must set Calling Cards individually for each contact.

Who’s affected

This update is currently available to users on the beta channel of the Google Contacts app.

What to do

  • Update to the latest version of the Google Contacts app (v188.0.793710089-publicbeta) to access the Calling Cards feature.
  • Customize the incoming call images for your contacts as needed.
  • Be aware that each contact must be set up individually.
